Eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB exam

The IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria are set by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.

Every year the IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts an examination to recruit to Group ‘A’ Officers (Scale I, II and III) and Group ‘B’ Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks (RRB).

The IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

The IBPS RRB exam pattern varies slightly from post to post, but the common factor between them is that they all consist of a Prelims, Mains and Interview phase. Only those candidates that pass the criteria can attend the exam.

Eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB: Age Limit

There is an upper and lower age limit set by the IBPS for candidates who wish to appear for the IBPSRRB Exam. The age limit varies according to the scale of the officers.
The IBPS RRB age limit set forgeneral category candidates according to the posts are given below:

Post Age Limit
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Between 18 years and 28 years, i.e., candidates should nothave been born earlier than July 2nd,1993 and later than July 1st, 2003 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale – I (Assistant Manager )
Above 18 years – below 30 years, i.e., candidatesshould not have been born earlier than July 3rd,1991, and later than May 31st, 2003 (both datesinclusive).
For Officer Scale-II (Manager)
Above 21 years – Below 32 years, i.e., candidates should nothave been born earlier than July 3rd,1989 and later than May 31st, 2000 (both dates inclusive).
For Officer Scale – III (Senior Manager)
Above 21 years – Below 40 years, i.e., candidatesshould not have been born earlier than July 3rd,1981 and later than May 31st, 2000 (both datesinclusive)

Eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB: Nationality

The IBPS RRB Eligibility as per the Nationality/Citizenship of a candidate is discussed below.
The candidates applying for the exam should fulfil the following criteria:

All candidates who are not Indian citizens have to produce a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India during the Bank RRB interview.

Eligibility criteria for IBPS RRB: Education Qualification

Candidates applying for the IBPS RRB exam must note that the IBPS has laid down severaleducational criteria depending on the post for which a candidate is applying. There aredifferent sets of educational qualifications required for posts such as Officer Scale- I, II and IIIand Office Assistant, but candidates applying for any of the posts mentioned above must hold adegree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Candidates having adegree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, AnimalHusbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering,Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation,Information Technology, Management, Law, Economicsand Accountancy will be given preference.

(i) Proficiency in local languages as prescribed by theparticipating RRB
(ii) Working knowledge of computer

Officer Scale-II (Chartered Accountant)
Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
1 Year as a CharteredAccountant
Officer Scale – II (Marketing Officer Information)
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University inElectronics / Communication / Computer Science /Information Technology or its equivalent with aminimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc
1 Year in the relevant field
Officer Scale-II Law Officer
Degree from a recognised University in Law or itsequivalent with a minimum of 50% marks inaggregate.
2 years as an advocate orshould have worked asLaw Officer in Banks orFinancial Institutions fora period of not less thantwo years
Officer Scale-II TreasuryManager
Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from arecognized university/ institution
1 Year in the relevant field
Officer Scale-II Marketing Officer
MBA in Marketing from a recognized university
1 Year in the relevantf ield
Officer Scale-II Agricultural Officer
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marksi n aggregate

1 Year as a Chartered Accountant
